Ah, yes. There’s something about that drive. I used to do it when I was in college in LA. Eerie, desolate, but magical. Love the softness of these photographs.
We are probably headed that way this summer and I have been kind of dreading some of the driving in Nevada. Those pictures help to remind me that sometime there is a lot of beauty in desolation. Check out our blog if you get a chance (family road trip focus).
I travel Reno to Las Vegas (and back again) frequently…it truly is STUNNING landscape. Desolate, beautiful, lonely, surprising vistas all the way…
Fun post!
:)
Great pix actually but why are they only 5? you should have put more.

We took a family road trip to Vegas through the desert when I was a kid and I fell in love! I can’t wait to go back! Lovely!
I have hitchhiked between Las Vegas and LA a few times. I didn’t like Las Vegas at all, so I was happy when I hit Barstow.

I’m hopefully going to Vegas for the first time this summer. Your pictures are making me even more excited!
Yup, good time of the year for roadtrips! The desert and power lines are all too familiar….good good times!
Deserts are definitely the best places for roadtrips, just did one for Coachella. Congrats on freshly pressed.

It looks simple, but beautiful.

I have photographed a similar shot of the plant in your second picture. I loved the spiraling blurring against the strong green stems
And yet this was an amazing captures! Must’ve been a wonderful trip for you. :)
